If a tree falls in the woods

...then it's horizontal instead of vertical. The concept of physics doesn't go away just because nobody was around to witness it lol.

Having a blog is cool

I'm really enjoying it a lot. There have only been two posts before this one, but I find myself being more creative in other places for the sake of eventually posting about it here.

After a long hiatus from using Touchdesigner I finally started to get back into it by actually reading the documentation on the Derivative site. Nothing fully ready to share just yet, but I'll be posting here when the time comes.

I think this is the first year I've been consistently creative from the start without any creative burnout.

Rubber-banding

I think the biggest shift this year has been incrementation rather than going all in all the time. Creative burnout (or burnout in any capacity) is so much more likely when you're trying to push your bounds in every session. This year I've mostly opted for short sessions on whatever I'm doing.

Although I've definitely had a handful of longer sessions, 15 to 30 minutes at a time in the studio is enough for me to get the idea across and move on. Longer sessions can be saved for weekends when I have fewer obligations. I've applied the same concepts to exercising (30 minutes daily) and studying Korean (one lesson daily).

I've been able to get so much done so far this year by frontloading the effort (working daily) but sparing time.

Time for a video game break (I've been addicted to Wildfrost).
