I finally made a good drum sample pack

...and now I don't know what to do with it.

This is mostly because I've just been recording one instance of drums from a synth each time I start a new project.

A brand new drum kit each time because I refused to save presets or record one-shots, which really ate up an unbelievable amount of time.

The idea of just opening a folder and choosing a snare and moving on with my life is a little weird, but I know I'll appreciate myself so much for having done this.

Who would've thought making music could be easy?

Made-Up Rules

They kinda rule though, in the way that you can set your own parameters for how you operate and this is a process that's yours. The downside of that is the amount of time spent on one thing when you could've been doing another. I guess much like anything it all depends on what you're willing to live with as the trade-off.

I'm excited to receive my HiChord synth pretty soon. I wouldn't have allowed myself to own something like this about a decade or two ago because I "needed to properly learn to play keys" (and now look at me -- never did).

I suppose this was all a long-winded way of saying "just make whatever you want however you want." It's the obvious answer to creativity, but maybe it's a good reminder that you make the rules so you can change them whenever you want.
