Chords & More
I hate checking my mailbox
I finally got my HiChord in the mail the other day. It took about two months from when it was expected to ship until it arrived, but it's finally here and has already been super helpful.
As a quick explainer, it's a synth that lets you play different chords easily. I've never been good at keys so this lets me explore fast without any wrong notes. In just a couple of hours I was able to work out an idea I had in my head for a month but couldn't get the chords exactly right:
I'm on the run
I started doing a sprint to complete an EP I'm working on. I've never completed a sprint before because it feels so corporate and doesn't feel creative I guess, but I've pushed past the mental connotation and here we are.
It's going well, surprisingly! I'd really been dragging this idea for the EP along for so long I hadn't actually done anything for it until now, just made loops and bars that didn't fit the theme. I'm making visible progress everyday now.
I'm a bit behind schedule, but for a good reason. Many of my music friends have mostly been quiet for a while, but a good handful have reached out to make some collabs and I've challenged myself to accept them without the concern for burnout while I'm in the middle of my own project. The well doesn't run dry unless you choose not to supply it.
Off to the lab to go write for the evening.
